Maflex Sustainability Development Agenda

“Our industry is evolving rapidly, and with it comes the growing responsibility to lead change with awareness. For us, circular economy and social responsibility are not just words, but concrete actions fully integrated into our growth model. We don’t track ESG indicators because we have to, but because we believe that transparency and sustainability are the true drivers of a modern, competitive company. Each reported indicator has been linked to the corresponding UN 2030 Goal, to show that our commitment goes beyond business activities—it extends to the community in which we operate and to sustainable development. This is just the beginning of a path of continuous improvement. Sharing our progress means strengthening our commitment, fostering innovation, and offering all our stakeholders a clear vision of the future we are building. We are ready to make a difference.“
Ing. Luca Mazzotti, General Manager
Our ESG Strategy
Maflex designs and manufactures complete lines for the converting of tissue paper rolls. The company specializes in innovative, tailor-made, and highly automated solutions that ensure high quality and performance.
A second-generation family-owned business, Maflex is now ready to make sustainability a defining element of its operations.

1. GOVERNANCE
Strength and transparency
Maflex stands out for its solid and well-structured governance, ensuring efficiency and transparency in the management of business operations.
At the top of the administrative structure is a Sole Director, who holds extensive powers, enabling fast and targeted decision-making—essential to remain competitive in a highly innovative sector.
Supporting this role are the Statutory Auditor and the Shareholders’ Meeting, which serves as the company’s main decision-making body.

Compliance and transparency tools
Compliance represents a fundamental pillar for Maflex’s sustainable development and long-term success. To further strengthen this commitment, the company has introduced specific tools and practices designed to ensure increasingly ethical, transparent and responsible management.
Among the main initiatives adopted: Organisational, Management and Control Model 231, Code of Ethics, Disciplinary Cod, Legality Rating
These tools represent an important step in Maflex Tissue Converting Machinery’s path towards a solid governance system based on integrity, responsibility and regulatory compliance.

A Commitment to the Circular Economy | SDG Goal 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure | SDG Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production
Maflex recognizes that the circular economy is a key competitive driver, capable of strengthening customer trust and attracting business partners who care about environmental issues.
This innovative approach reinforces the company’s role as a responsible and forward-thinking player in the tissue converting industry.

In particular, this commitment is reflected in:
- The ability to upgrade and enhance existing machinery.
- The use of compact modules that significantly reduce transportation costs—and, as a result, the environmental footprint.
- The Maflex Energy Regenerative System (MERS), introduced in 2010, a pioneering solution that redefines sustainable energy management practices, enabling energy savings of up to 20%.
Energy Efficiency and Emissions Reduction | SDG Goal 7: Affordable and Clean Energy | SDG Goal 13: Climate Action
At Maflex, environmental sustainability is an increasingly important value.
Among the initiatives undertaken to reduce environmental impact is the installation of a photovoltaic system dedicated to the production of clean and renewable energy.
Thanks to this system, Maflex is able to cover a significant portion of its energy needs through a renewable source.

The photovoltaic plant is one of the first actions Maflex implemented to promote a more responsible development model, aligning with environmental sustainability goals and helping to preserve the planet’s resources for future generations.

Responsible recycling means making a positive impact—for a cleaner and more sustainable future.
For Maflex, environmental efficiency and responsibility translate into new resources and a concrete commitment to environmental protection.
